Description
Our original harness design is developed, tested, and used by world-leading mushers within bikejoring, skijoring and canicross, but applies to any active family dog. Freemotion comes in a variety of sizes and has good adjustability to fit most breeds.
Â
A suitable harness is crucial for the dog’s performance, to avoid injuries, and to make sure the dog enjoys the activity as much as you do. A Freemotion harness is designed to unleash the dog’s potential. It allows the dog’s shoulders to move freely. The airways stay unrestricted while the pull force distributes around the upper body. The harness is made for activities with a pulling center higher than the dog’s back. It has an adjustable pulling point to utilize power in each stride.
Â
The dog’s wellbeing is essential for us when we are carefully designing every harness at Non-stop dogwear. Ergonomic design requires attention to detail. We always construct the inner lining so that all materials overlap without any hard edges.
Â
Harnesses are made from durable, tightly woven nylon and have a cell foam base to prevent water soaking in. Every seam has its smooth side towards the dog’s body, all to make sure the harness does not chafe the dog. All our harnesses have integrated 3M reflective materials for the dog’s security. This anatomical design approach with freedom of movement and comfortable breathing is our trademark.

How to choose the right size and adjust the Freemotion harness?
The size finder on the product's page will help you find the correct size for your dog. Based on the measurements, simply fill in your dog’s numbers and a size will be suggested for you. With this tool, you will also see if your dog is close to going one size up or down. If your dog is in between sizes, we recommend you choose the bigger size for small/medium dogs (up to size 6) in particular. The colored tab on the harness indicates which size the harness is.
The harness’s dimensions are available on the product page if needed.
What is the difference between the elastic and the static sidestraps?
Elastic sidestraps give your dog a few more centimeters for each stride. Because of this, athletes doing canicross and skijoring prefer elastic sidestraps. The elastic straps are made for racing, but are less durable than the static straps.
How to change the sidestraps?
Open the metal-buckle, pull the worn strap through the webbing, and plastic-buckle. Take the new strap, first guide the strap through the plastic-buckle, through the webbing and back into the metal-buckle. The side strap should be tight.
Why do the sidestraps break?
The sidestraps get worn, and you might need to replace them. There are replacement sidestraps in the web-shop, both elastic and static (from size 4 and up).
What is the difference between the Combined harness and the Freemotion harness?
Both harnesses are designed for activities with a high pulling point, such as canicross/running, biking, and skiing. The Combined harness and the Freemotion harness have the same fundamental design. The Combined harness has built-in reinforced battens around the neck to give extra support. The Combined harness also has attachments for a pulka.
Should I choose the same sized Combined harness as a Freemotion harness?
The Combined harness and Freemotion harness have the same sizing.
The Combined harness feels tighter around the neck because of the battened reinforcement.
